Let’s go adventure
I’m an American Expat living in Germany. I’ve lived here for 5 years and it’s been a wild ride of ups, downs and of course, numerous adventures! Let’s rewind to the beginning of this adventure…back in 2017 my husband was offered a temporary job in Germany. What started off as a 3 month assignment, became 6 months, then a year…it was at this point that we decided I would join him in Germany.
In 2018, I quit my dream job teaching kindergarten in my hometown and bought a one-way ticket to Stuttgart, Germany. This was without a doubt the riskiest decision I had ever made, as I didn’t have a job lined up here in Germany. Luckily, the interview I had scheduled for the day I arrived went well & I got a job as an English teacher. While my days were filled teaching, my evenings were spent travel planning & each weekend was a new adventure. The highlight being July 2021, when my husband I (finally) got married back in our home state of Michigan (after a year-long postponement, due to….well you know why…)
Now, after 5 years of living abroad, I feel the need for a change. Teaching English to adults just isn’t fulfilling me in the way teaching kindergarteners did and my passion for travel has grown exponentially! Back when I first moved abroad in 2018, I created a travel instagram and a very basic blog but I never gave it my all. As I sit here on the 5th anniversary of my move abroad, I have decided to approach this with the full force of my passion. Welcome to my new & improved blog!
