Planning Resources:

Accommodation – I always check these three websites to see my options when booking hotels or apartments to stay in : Booking.com, Airbnb.com and Expedia.com (includes VRBO & Hotels.com)

Tours – When searching for activities and tours, I use Viator and Get Your Guide

Transportation – I stalk Google Flights for both domestic and international flights. For trains, Eurail for multi-day passes and Trainline for one-off train tickets. I often use Enterprise for rental cars, but will go with any reputable company that offers a good deal.

Belgium’s Best Hidden Gem – enjoying a drink at Kiosk Radio in Parc de Bruxelles. Escaping the hustle and bustle of the city for a quiet and relaxing drink in this large, green park, is one of the many highlights Belgium as to offer!

Alex’s Insider Tips

1
Use the Trains- the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg) are extremely well connected by trains. Given the fact that the three countries are fairly small, it is quick & easy to travel between them by train! Check out Eurail's Benelux Pass if you decide to do this.
2
Eat All the Fries- one of my favorite foods in the world! The french fries are everywhere in Belgium and they come with sauces right on them and a mini fork to eat them with. Enjoy!!
3
Elisabeth Chocolatier- located in Brussels and the chocolate items are absolutely incredible!
4
Don't Just Visit Brussels- it can be tempting to see the capital city and then move on to the next European country, but as with all counties, you will experience so much more by adding on at least one other city....perhaps Bruges?

What can I expect from Belgium?

A diverse country, with three official languages: French, Dutch & German. While Brussels is bilingual, other regions of the country will favor one of the languages. Travel north for Dutch speakers, south for French speakers and east for German speakers!
