Planning Resources:

Accommodation – I always check these three websites to see my options when booking hotels or apartments to stay in : Booking.com, Airbnb.com and Expedia.com (includes VRBO & Hotels.com)

Tours – When searching for activities and tours, I use Viator and Get Your Guide

Transportation – I stalk Google Flights for both domestic and international flights. For trains, Eurail for multi-day passes and Trainline for one-off train tickets. I often use Enterprise for rental cars, but will go with any reputable company that offers a good deal.

Czechia’s Best Hidden Gem – Krkonoše National Park gives you all the Switzerland vibes without the hefty price tag. Filled with Czechia’s highest mountain range and striking green valleys, these are the views that will remind you of the Swiss Alps. The mountain activities here are limitless!

Alex’s Insider Tips

1
Beer Gardens- the Czech beer gardens are some of the best! Even non-beer drinkers (hi, it's me) will enjoy the atmosphere, and if you do like beer--you're in for a treat! I've heard that Czechia has some of the best beer around, with a Pilsner being one of the most popular!
2
Stay Outside of Prague's City Center- this is especially true if you come by car, but regardless I think the experience is so much better when you stay a bit outside of the famous sights. The local public transport in Prague is exceptional, so it's easy to stay anywhere and bop around with the trams/busses. I highly recommend the Holesovice neighborhood!
3
Try Absinthe- I know this might sound intimidating after everything you've probably heard about Absinthe, but I promise you it's not. Visit the Absinthe Bar in Prague, where you can drink a traditional glass of absinthe or one of their specialty absinthe cocktails|!
4
Avoid the Christmas Market- bold claim, I know, but it was insanely crowded when I visited! I was there the weekend prior to Christmas and it was so crowded, it was hard to enjoy. I love Christmas markets but I think given that Prague is the 5th most visited European city, it is just far too popular this time of year. If you really want to visit the Prague Christmas market be sure to visit during the middle of the week!

What can I expect from Czechia?

A great capital city, Prague, mixed with so much nature. The National parks and smlaller towns shouldn’t be missed during your trip to Czechia!
