Planning Resources:

Accommodation – I always check these three websites to see my options when booking hotels or apartments to stay in : Booking.com, Airbnb.com and Expedia.com (includes VRBO & Hotels.com)

Tours – When searching for activities and tours, I use Viator and Get Your Guide

Transportation – I stalk Google Flights for both domestic and international flights. For trains, Eurail for multi-day passes and Trainline for one-off train tickets. I often use Enterprise for rental cars, but will go with any reputable company that offers a good deal.

Norway’s Best Hidden Gem – without competition: the Lofoten islands! Especially camping on the islands. You can hike in an hour or more, to these beautiful beaches, where you can wild camp. The peaceful setting is always worth the hike! Plus the water looks like you’re in the Caribbean!

Alex’s Insider Tips

1
Expensive- as wonderful of a country as Norway is, it is not budget friendly. A few ways to save money are to stay in an airbnb and cook your own meals, or to camp!
2
Roadtrip- a great way to see the country of Norway is with a roadtrip. Just be sure to plan your trip well because Norway is a large country. Renting a car or camper van in the summer enables you to experience some epic scenic drives!
3
Allemannsrelten- the ``right of access`` in Norway, gives everyone the ride to hike or camp anywhere in the country, provided you stay 100 meters or more from houses. If you do this, please be sure to pick up after yourself and leave the place just as you found it!
4
Ferries- this is a major time-saving way to travel parts of the country. The highways in Norway tend to have pretty slow speed limits, which can make driving even more time-consuming. The ferries can help you cut off driving time, especially when making your way north to the Lofoten Islands.

What can I expect from Norway?

A clean, safe and naturally beautiful country! You will absolutely fall in love once you see Norway with your own eyes!
